Before we can get this set up for you, we need the following information!

  1. Can new patients book in this appointment type?
  2. Can patients select which doctor they want to book with or can they only book with their family doctor?
  3. How far in advance can patients book their flu shot appointment? (i.e. 3 days in advance, 1 week in advance, etc.)
  4. Please provide a list of the doctors that will be taking flu shot appointments
  5. Please provide which template code the doctor will be using for the flu shot appointment slots

If doctors only allow patients to book their flu shot appointment in a specific time slot, you should update the their template schedule and place a new template code (e.g. "F") in the specific time slots.

Since flu shots are normally shorter appointments, we recommend for clinics to create a template with 5 minute increments.

Tips to Optimize Booking:

Announcing to your patients they can book their flu shot appointment online can greatly reduce administrative work and gives MOAs more time to focus on other important tasks. Below are different ways you can announce this to your patients.

  1. Add the flu shot booking link to your website (you can also add a pop-up message to the home page)
  2. Update the clinic's voicemail to inform patients that the flu shot clinic is open and they can book on the clinic's website
  3. Post the announcement on the clinic's social media accounts
  4. Send a mass email to patients that includes the booking link
