While the Cortico plug-in is open on the EMR schedule page, Cortico pauses the page's automatic reload so your work is not wiped. Minimize the plug-in and the schedule goes back to refreshing on its own.

Where and when it turns on
The pause turns on by itself. There is no setting to enable.
Where: the appointment schedule page in Juno, Oscar Pro and OpenOSP. Other pages, such as a patient chart, are not affected.
When: whenever the Cortico plug-in is open on that page, meaning its panel is expanded after you click the round Cortico button in the bottom-right corner. Some Cortico features, such as sending receipts, open the panel for you, and that starts the pause too.
Open the plug-in on the schedule page. Cortico waits for the page to finish loading, then cancels the reload the EMR had queued.
Work as long as you need. The page holds still while the plug-in is open.
Minimize the plug-in. After 2 minutes, the page refreshes once and returns to its normal cycle. The 2-minute wait covers minimizing the plug-in for a moment and opening it again.
Turning it off
There is no switch to turn the pause off, for one user or for the whole clinic. Because it only runs while the plug-in is open, you control it by opening and minimizing the plug-in:
Minimize the plug-in. The schedule refreshes 2 minutes later and stays on its normal cycle while the plug-in is minimized.
Refresh the page yourself (F5, or the browser's reload button) to see new bookings straight away. This also clears anything open in the plug-in, so send or finish your work first.
Computers used mainly to watch the schedule, such as the front desk, work best with the plug-in minimized between tasks.
Common questions
Will we miss new bookings? The schedule does not update itself while the plug-in is open. Minimize the plug-in and it catches up.
What if someone leaves the plug-in open all day? That computer's schedule will not refresh on its own until the plug-in is minimized.
Why not save the draft and restore it after the reload? Clinic computers are shared. Cortico does not leave patient information in browser storage for the next person to sit down. Holding the page still keeps your work safe without storing anything.
