Note: The Cortico Browser Plug-In is free and open source software which may be used with or without the main Cortico product. It comes with no warranty;

You can now email patients directly from your EMR with the Cortico Oscar Plug-In installed.

Steps:

1. Download the Cortico Oscar Plug-In.

2. Once downloaded, you'll see a Cortico logo at the bottom of your Oscar schedule.

3. Click on the logo and enter your clinic name in the clinic name field and enter your username (your email) and password then click  "Sign in"

Hint: the 'Clinic' entry should be what appears in your Cortico URL before .cortico.ca. For example, a clinic called Medical Clinic with URL medicalclinic.cortico.ca would input medicalclinic. If you are unsure of your clinic name for your Cortico URL, contact help@cortico.ca.

You'll get a pop-up message indicating that you have successfully signed in. And you can now message patients from your EMR.

4. Click on the e-chart of any patient with an email address. You'll see Cortico's logo again at the bottom right of the screen which is the messaging platform.

The patient's email address is automatically added so you don't have to manually add it yourself. You can type text in the email and attach any PDF files, e-forms, or documents.

You can also copy the email that you send to the encounter notes field by clicking the checkbox for "Copy Message to Encounter". This can help you keep a record of all the emails you've sent the patient.

After you've sent the email by clicking "Send Email", you'll receive a pop-up message indicating that the message has successfully been sent.
